Oil companies are out to get us!
I thought this was interesting.
Last night I was reading a book on corporate strategy for class, and in it they had an example from Shell Oil. The basic gist of what was happening was that Shell was trying to map out what would happen to their prices as a result of certain hypothetical happenings in the world. So they had a chart of what they thought the price of a barrel of crude oil should be for a given world event. Out of the scenario's that they detailed the only thing that is even close to the current prices was if Saudi Arabia goes through an "Iran style revolution". According to Shell mind you, not the authors, the price of oil should be $75 dollars a barrel if the United States has strained relations with Saudi Arabia and there is a radical government controlling their oil supply. I'm not sure if this has happened in the last 5 minutes since I have been to CNN.com but I'm pretty sure it hasn't. So I think at this point their just making prices up. That's my new theory ... I'm not much for conspiracy theories so I bet my first couple are going to weak.
In lighter news, my iPod and Jennifer Aniston have something in common. And that is their love for John Mayer. John Mayer makes up .315% of my iPod's playlist. That's 63 out of over 20,000 yet three out of the first nine songs played have been John Mayer songs. I think it's a little disconcerting.
