Just a real quick note the stimulus plan

So we can all agree that the economy is horrible right now correct?

I'm going to assume that everyone who reads this blog is smart, because ... well you're reading this blog. So given our initial assumption, if someone gave you $500 you'd put it in the bank because you have no idea what is going to happen in this economy. That would be the smart thing to do. In my mind this is a fact and this is the thing that perplexes me about the debate going on about the stimulus plan. One school of thought is that they want a majority of any plan to based in tax cuts which is basically giving us our money back. If that happens all the smart people are just going to put it in the bank (or under a mattress which might be safer at this point) which is going to do nothing for the economy. I'm usually pretty fiscally conservative, but if we're going to do something why not do something. Why not spend that money on things that we can all use and make jobs in the process? Why not invest in green technologies? why not invest in upgrading the power grid?

Why not do things that make sense in the long run.

*Just as an FYI, I listen to WAY too much NPR
