$3.45
That's what the nice man at Speed Way wants me to pay for a SINGLE gallon of gasoline. I don't know why, but it always puts me in a terrible mood when gas is so expensive. Not enough to walk around and kick puppies or anything, but it definitely puts a damper on the day. The thing that gets me is why is gas at $3.45 a gallon? There is just never really any reason for that.
The two classes I took in economics at the prestigious Bowling Green State University school of Business really did not equip me to speak on the macro-economic structures of oil prices, but I'm pretty sure something is bonk. W. says that OPEC is not pumping enough oil ... OPEC says that W. has de-valued the dollar to the point where global investors are looking for new commodities to invest in and they can't help it that Oil looks attractive. I'm sure that the answer lies some place in the middle.
As one of the people in the middle though it sucks and I wish someone would figure it out. I'm cool with paying $2.50 a gallon, tax it and pay for alternative fuel research ... I'm down with that. But $3.50 a gallon? really??
