Peace out texas

I stayed a day longer than I wanted to but I am finally on my way back to Ohio. I took the extra time that American Airlines made me take to decide that I am fully on board as a Texas fan. I think as a life long ohio-er it's easy to get jealous and want to be someplace warm. Yesterday in the Austin/San Antonio area it was 85 degrees, sunny and no clouds to be seen. I kind of took myself on an unguided tour of Austin and I kept saying I kind of like this. I dig the vibe of the city and how green it is. Everyone was outside doing something. Really I think what got me was Lake Travis ... that is a ridiculously cool place. I haven't really chronicled it here because we (me and both of you readers) haven't been through a summer together yet, but I love water. There is just something about it that cools me out, relaxes me and makes the world feel right to me. Anyway Lake Travis is probably the coolest body of water that I have ever seen. It is cut into hill country and is fed by the Colorado river. All the land around the Lake is surrounded by restaurants and big fancy houses so it looks like your on a Riveria or something. I stopped at a park to look around and I saw people launching their boats and enjoying the water and I thought "Dang ... That would be nice to do in April". So of course I stopped at the next Panera bread and looked for jobs in the Austin area. I found two that I would be perfect for on Cragslist in a 10 minutes search. I thought about tossing in my resume just for fun, but then I thought what if these people realized my obvious brilliance and hired me??

But anyway reflecting on it today I realized something else, that I really like where I'm at and what I'm doing. I thought about putting the Moped in Lake Travis and how it would be cool. Sure exposing Texas to a real boat would be cool, but not as cool because our friends wouldn't be there. While Dayton Ohio is not a hot spot, nor is it warm or inviting it but it is what we have made of it. I like that. I'm sure one day Cora and I will want to move, but until that day I like my life where we are at.

I also have typed this entire post on my treo in planes and airports so I'm pretty sure there are going to be some flow issues. So sorry about that :)

Random Texas pictures. Most of these were taken from the car while driving ... so they're not well crafted.
