Gas prices II
$3.95
That's what a single gallon of gasoline cost on my way to work this morning. I don't know if you've picked up on my outrage on this issue yet ... but really it drives me up the wall. There is just no reason for gas to be this expensive. I understand there are a lot of "issues" that contribute to the problem, but that's what we have a government right?? they are supposed to solve issues like this right? you know the ones that affect EVERYONE.
And right now it just seems like no one that can do anything about it cares, which makes the whole deal even more depressing. W has checked out and congress is too busy about picking between two presidential candidates who on paper are the exact same. Last time this happened in an election year the incumbent some how magically got gas prices lower so it wasn't an issue he had to address all the time, now that no one really in power is running it seems like they are almost sticking it to us. Like "hey, let's see how far much we can get away with" ... $3.00, $3.70, $3.95 why not $5.00 ... jerks.
And I guess I shouldn't even feel as pissy as I do because I can afford it. The people who should be even more riled up are the people who have to struggle with it more. It affects every aspect of their life and no one is doing anything about it.
